Sexual mastery is practically impossible while working in Western society. Balance willpower with imagination. Forgive yourself constantly.
"When will your societies surpass the sexual chemical process? It is a while yet, why not forgive thyself therefore?"
The Impossible Standard
You've read about celibacy. Energy transmutation. Conscious redirection. Rising kundalini through chakras to access cosmic consciousness.
All true. All possible. All powerful practices.
And for most people reading this? Completely unrealistic given current life circumstances.
Here's what J says about that reality:
"The sexual chemical process is not something that is easily moved on from regardless of the spiritual development of the individual."
Notice: REGARDLESS of spiritual development. Even advanced practitioners struggle with this.
"If you live in Western society your systems will essentially smack you on the head with a baseball bat any time you attempt to spiritually grow."
Not metaphor. Literal description. Western society is DESIGNED to make sexual mastery nearly impossible.
"Thus you are in it for the long run and thus you should not get angry at the self, at your inability to control your sexual impulses, sexual impulse is practically impossible to overcome in Western society if you are chained to a job of some kind or a system of working."
Read that again slowly.
Practically impossible.
Not "difficult." Not "challenging." Practically impossible if you're working a job, participating in the system, living normal Western life.
This is J being radically honest about something most spiritual teachings won't admit: the society you live in makes advanced practice almost impossible for average person.
The Willpower Trap
"One must consider that what we had classed as willpower is limited."
Willpower isn't infinite resource you can draw on forever. It's finite. It depletes. Runs out like gas tank.
"By getting angry at your willpower supply you are condemning a spiritual energy that naturally wants to deplete."
