What healing actually is at the energetic level — not the removal of illness but the gift of coherence — and what's required to offer it to another.
Most people, when they imagine healing, imagine subtraction. Something is wrong, something needs to be taken away — the pain, the disease, the blockage — and the healer's job is to remove it. This is the model borrowed from medicine, and it shapes how energy healing is usually understood too: the healer pulls out the bad energy, clears the blockage, extracts what doesn't belong.
J's teaching describes something different. Not subtraction but addition of a very specific kind. Not the removal of energy but the gift of organisation to energy that is already there.
"When healing is occurring as you would understand healing, it is the act of bringing coherent energy to another person. One does not therefore imagine energy leaving the body in any way, shape, or form, but instead imagines that the energy within the entity is becoming more organised, more coherent, more flexible, more useable, and less random."
This single reframe changes nearly everything about what healing work actually is, what it requires, and what a healer can realistically offer another soul.
The Knot and the Conduit
J's central image for understanding what has gone wrong in an unwell body is a knot. Energy that has become tangled — not absent, not evil, not foreign, simply disorganised. Like a length of string pulled through itself until it can no longer move freely.
"Anything that is without structure is something that cannot do work. Anything that has structure can do work, for energy can channel through something structured."
A knot has lost its structure. The energy trapped within it cannot circulate, cannot reach the places it needs to reach, cannot do the work that a healthy energetic system performs automatically. The healer's first task is to manually untangle this — to do, energetically, what one would do with a literal knot in a piece of rope. Patient, careful, attentive work, undoing what has become tightly wound.
