Why some people seem to suck your energy and how these interactions are actually designed to teach you energetic sovereignty.
You know the feeling: after spending time with certain people, you feel completely drained, exhausted, or emotionally depleted. Popular psychology calls them 'energy vampires', but the J collective reveals a more nuanced truth - these interactions are actually designed to teach you one of the most important spiritual skills: energetic sovereignty.
"The thoughts of humans and animals emit into this field of prana which is not so far above your head, these ambient but extremely negative thoughts then weigh on the Crown Chakra in a most literal fashion," J explains about the invisible energy dynamics constantly affecting human consciousness.
What you experience as 'energy draining' is actually your Crown Chakra processing the unresolved emotional content that other people are unconsciously broadcasting. "To feel weighed down by the thoughts of humans is by no means a metaphor, but is instead, a reality and a very harsh reality for empaths."
Think of it this way: some people haven't learned to contain their emotional energy, so it leaks out and affects everyone around them. If you're sensitive (which most spiritually developing people are), you automatically start processing their unresolved material as if it were your own.
"Your chakras are receivers for a magnetic form of energy that is then translated into your thought-track or thoughts. Energy can freely enter into these centres and be transduced into thoughts similar to the original intention," J describes.
This isn't the other person deliberately stealing your energy - it's your energy system being overly helpful by trying to heal or balance their unprocessed emotions. It's like your consciousness automatically becoming a therapist for everyone you encounter.
"Ask thyself the following: Of the content of your thoughts today, which percentage were truly yours?" J challenges. "You would find that the real you tends to think about things that will improve your life as well as others - therefore, all the thoughts that come after, that convince you not to do that which would make your life (or other lives) better are more than likely the ambient thoughts of the world."
The solution isn't avoiding difficult people - it's learning energetic boundaries. J recommends specific practices: "If we allow ourselves to ground and stand underneath the Sun, we can allow the depression of the human world to flow and be burned away from within the crust."
Grounding gives negative emotional energy a path to discharge rather than accumulating in your system. "It is to realise that negative emotions are not just ones own imagination, they are real and can truly weigh upon the psyche heavily - this energy however, can flow if one is grounded."
Advanced practitioners learn 'energetic sovereignty' - the ability to remain centred and clear regardless of what others are broadcasting. This isn't about building walls or becoming insensitive - it's about learning to process energy consciously rather than automatically.
"It is not fair to expect any human or creature to have to deal with the entire worlds anguish," J acknowledges with compassion. But they also point out that developing this capacity is part of spiritual maturation.
The people who seem to drain you aren't your enemies - they're your teachers in disguise. They're showing you exactly where your energetic boundaries need strengthening and giving you opportunities to practice conscious energy management.
Some practical strategies J suggests:
• Spend time in nature after difficult interactions
• Practice conscious grounding throughout the day
• Learn to distinguish between your emotions and others'
• Use sunlight to "burn away" absorbed negative energy
• Recognize that most draining behaviour is unconscious, not malicious
The goal isn't to become energetically invulnerable - it's to become consciously responsive rather than automatically reactive. When you master energetic sovereignty, you can actually help others process their material more effectively without sacrificing your own well-being.
'Energy vampires' are really just people who haven't learned to manage their own energy consciously. Your job isn't to fix them - it's to maintain your own energetic clarity while remaining compassionate toward their unconscious struggle.
